Ghost Line X
‘Ghost Line X’ is a spatial audio public event series created by the experimental sound collective ‘Rolling Ryot.’ The series debuted at Rosewood Park in Austin, Texas on November 19th, 2022 and happened a second time on April 15th, 2023 at Moody Amphitheater as part of Fusebox Festival. The event consists of a 15-channel linear speaker array spanning over 350 ft. in conjunction with sound reactive lighting.
For this event I created a piece entitled ‘Lost Transmissions From Dusty Roads.’ ‘Lost Transmissions’ encompasses electromagnetic anti-radio field recordings, chopped digital string arrangements, and a variety of heavily edited sample content. The composition merges staccato melodic phrasings with Musique concrète forms to create spatial movement and depth within the linear speaker array.

Playback of audio-video content was controlled and streamed live via OBS onto the platform. The gallery exhibit was part of the ‘NOWHERE Sound Series,’ which was a month long showcase of musicians and sound artists.
