Ghost Line X

‘Ghost Line X’ is a spatial audio public event series created by the experimental sound collective ‘Rolling Ryot.’ The series debuted at Rosewood Park in Austin, Texas on November 19th, 2022 and happened a second time on April 15th, 2023 at Moody Amphitheater as part of Fusebox Festival. The event consists of a 15-channel linear speaker array spanning over 350 ft. in conjunction with sound reactive lighting.
For this event I created a piece entitled ‘Lost Transmissions From Dusty Roads.’ ‘Lost Transmissions’ encompasses electromagnetic anti-radio field recordings, chopped digital string arrangements, and a variety of heavily edited sample content. The composition merges staccato melodic phrasings with Musique concrète forms to create spatial movement and depth within the linear speaker array.
‘Ghost Line X’ was made possible in partnership with the city of Austin through the Cultural Arts Division.
